It should be of interest to householders in Australia that the government’s Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan includes a program to assist them in improving the efficiency of their homes. A section of the plan, known as the Energy Efficient Homes Package, includes the Home Insulation Program – a program designed to assist householders in reducing not only their energy bills, but energy waste as well, thus saving them money while concurrently adding to the improvement and preservation of the environment. The Home Insulation Program provides householders with up to $1200 toward the installation of ceiling insulation in pre-existing homes and is in effect from 2 November 2009 through 31 December 2011, or until funds for the program have been exhausted.
