What you need to know to get free roof insulation in Sydney – Part 1
As part of the Australian Government’s $4 billion Energy Efficient Homes Package a new Homeowner Insulation Program has been setup that offers owner-occupiers the chance to have roof insulation in Sydney installed with a $1600 rebate. The new Homeowner Insulation Program is currently in effect from July 1 2009 and will be ongoing until December 31 2011. If you are a homeowner and you want to apply for the rebate there are a few things you need to know before filling out the application.
1 – Check the installer provider
If you are looking to claim the rebate for your roof insulation in Sydney you need to check to see if the insulation provider is properly registered on the Government’s official Installer Provider Register. 2 – Don’t apply for both rebates

3 – Check for existing roof insulation
To have access to the rebate your home must not have existing roof insulation or insulation with an R-Value of 0.5 or below. R-Value relates to the thermal efficiency of the insulation. The higher the R-Value, the more resistant the roof insulation is to heat flowing in and out of the household.
